Club Carlson is known to have one of the richest promotions history out there. They’ve frequently come out with 50K bonuses for one night promotions, so their Q12015 promotion is no less spectacular. This one is called “Extend Your Stay”, and is valid for stays between 12 January 2015 to 29 March 2015.
Club Carlson is offering a 15,000 Club Carlson points bonus in case you have a 2 night stay on eligible rates with one of their many hotels around the world. In case you have a 3 night stay, you get 30,000 Club Carlson points as bonus. You need to register here.
How much is that worth? Club Carlson redemption stays start at 9,000 points per night for their category 1 hotels. And if you’re one of my India readers, there are over 60 Club Carlson affiliated Hotels in India itself.
Additionally, there are many elite member accounts who are being targeted with emails, where if you register before January 11, 2015, you get another 10,000 bonus Club Carlson points for your first eligible stay during the promotion period.
For the purpose of this promotion, cash + points and point redemptions are not eligible rates.

Which one is better for people living in India – SPG, Club Carlson or IHG. I dont travel so much on work so i cant put points in all 3 and still get some returns out of it. Which has a better redemption rate – especially for destinations in India & South East Asia.
If I already have reservations for late Jan, do I have to rebook to take advantage? The rates have gone up. So, I would rather not.

While this used to be a very generous program with its previous promotions, last year saw a distinct bump in the road, as redemption levels on most properties rose from 30% to 50%, particularly at the top end going from 44K a night to 66K (or thereabouts). At the same time, earnings went down as the elite online booking bonus was removed. So while this new promotion for 2015 is welcome, it hardly brings the program back to its value proposition in 2013. (Not the mention the meagre selection of properties in major US cities, tending to be limited to lower tier brands or dated Radissons.) I hope the program can return to its previous levels…maybe this is a start?
