This is known by now, that Vistara is taking wings as of January 9, 2015 with a special Delhi-Mumbai flight. I also posted a while back about the inflight experience a bit.
Now, lets come to Club Vistara, the frequent flyer program for the airline, which will be India’s first revenue-based frequent flyer program. Out here, we already guessed the name right a few months ago.
The program will have 3 tiers:
- Club
- Silver
- Gold
My guess, looking at the loyalty program’s dashboard is, that you need to earn 25,000 status points to get to Silver, and another 25,000 Status Points to be able to make it to Gold Tier. The benefits, are unknown and the website does not talk about them at all. Like all good airlines do, they’ve not launched a Platinum tier right off the bat, and will perhaps do so a few years down the line as an enhancement and when they have critical mass for operations.
From what I hear, Vistara has done away with the need for a physical FFP card, so you just need to download the apps or have an image of the FFP card on your phone to be able to use it at the airport.
Enroll Now and earn 500 points on your first flight within a month
Air Vistara is offering 500 points, in case you sign up for the frequent flyer program, and fly with them within the first month of enrollment.
Additionally, when you book a flight directly with the airline, you earn 200 bonus points for doing so.
Of course, I am waiting to find out more, and will update the blog when I have more details as well.

Thanks Ajay!
I registered on the website but still shows zero miles?
@sushil you get miles when u fly within 1 minth of registration
Delta FFP is not a revenue based programme as yet. It may be one in 2015 and beyond.
Jet is offering 2X and 3X miles on economy and premier resp. on Vistara sectors.. Good move? I think so…
surprised to hear that their FF model will be revenue based.. but i guess thats the future of loyalty programs..
@vcat.. it means that the miles you earn per flight will not be based on the distance you fly but the amount you pay.. ex: south west and Delta in the US
Good to know, thanks!
Why is it called ‘revenue based’?
