End of an Era: Axis Bank Credit Cards nix Accor, Marriott and Qatar Airways from transfer partner list with immediate effect

Axis Bank has been one of the most reliable banks for those who are very interested in hotel transfers to Accor ALL for a long while. As we warned months ago, the partnership is now terminated, and Axis Bank ended the transfer partnership, citing money as the reason.

Axis Bank shakes up transfer partnerships effective April 2, 2026

Axis Bank Credit Card members will wake up on April 2, 2026, seeing some of their favourite transfer partners gone. These include:

Accor ALL had become the favourite of a lot of people across India, who had started their relationship with Axis Bank during the times of the Axis Bank Magnus Credit Card, primarily because of the direct currency value assigned to the currency of Accor, which roughly came to INR 2 per point. Axis Bank was one of the largest buyers of ALL points globally, and the conversion was a hit. However, with the INR falling, costs were difficult for Axis Bank to absorb, and volumes were extremely high.

Of course, I’d warned you about this on X back in January 2026.

But that is not the only change. A few other partners have seen their transfer ratios change. British Airways Avios, Finnair Avios, and Vietnam Airlines LotusMiles now see the following transfer ratio

  • For Magnus for Burgundy Cardmembers, the conversion has changed from 5 ER: 4 Avios to 5 ER: 2 Avios
  • For Reserve and Magnus Cardmembers, the conversion has changed from 5 ER: 2 Avios to 5 ER: 1 Avios
  • For Olympus Cardmembers, the conversion has changed from 1 EM: 4 Avios to 1 EM: 2 Avios
  • For Atlas, the conversion has changed from 1 EM: 2 Avios to 2 EM: 1 Avios
  • For Horizon, the conversion has changed from 1 EM: 2 Avios to 2 EM: 1 Avios

Here is the updated transfer partner list with the ratios

And here is the classification list.

And before you start wondering how they could do this, this is not a core product feature, and hence the card issuer had the right to change it at any time they deemed fit. Which is what they did. The full T&C are enclosed here.

Of course, these changes put some other credit cards in a good book of Accor Paglus (to borrow from the current slang). These include HSBC Travel One and American Express.

Bottomline

The long-rumoured changes to the Axis Bank Transfer Partner list have been notified and executed. These include the deletion of Accor ALL and Marriott Bonvoy from the list, and a reduction in the conversions for Vietnam Airlines, British Airways and Finnair.

What do you make of these latest changes made at Axis Bank Credit Cards?

  1. It’s axis banks call at the end of the day. Axis is used to strong devaluations which do create lot of buzz and pain . May be Axis can look at monthly tranfer caps in partners where they want to devaluate rather than removing them completely .

  2. Too bad they nixed it for Olympus as well. And changed transfer ratios on some partners without any warning. This is no unlike Citi.

    • @Manish, unfortunately, they have the full right to do it. I remember a time Citi shut down its relationship with Jet Airways overnight. So they were no saints either.
