Singapore Airlines rolls out new destination video, showcasing Singapore

Singapore Airlines has unveiled a new safety video, marking it the first new safety video from the carrier since 2017. In today’s day and age, where airlines hop onto the trend of showcasing their home countries, such as Air India, this is one more case of joining the trend (in a good way).

Singapore Airlines’ new safety video showcases Singapore.

Singapore Airlines’ new safety video is destination-focused, presenting safety information while showing passengers around Singapore. The video was produced in collaboration with the Singapore Tourism Board and features Singapore Airlines cabin crew visiting landmarks like the Esplanade, Gardens by the Bay, Sentosa, Lau Pa Sat, and Jurong Lake Gardens.

The new video can now be viewed online and will progressively be rolled out on all Singapore Airlines flights starting at the end of October 2025. You can watch the video for yourself below.

For context, I have included below the previous safety video, which has been screened to date and will likely remain on display on planes until October, when the new content is loaded onto the IFE. This earlier video was also shot around Singapore, but the new one has the backing of the Singapore Tourism Board as well.

Here’s how Vinod Kannan, Singapore Airlines’ SVP of Sales and Marketing, describes the new safety video:

This video creatively presents vital safety information while showcasing Singapore’s vibrant and diverse cultures, sights, and communities. Safety remains our absolute priority, which is why each scene was carefully designed to reinforce these essential safety messages. We hope the video resonates with Singaporeans and Singapore residents, evoking a sense of home whenever they watch it on board, while giving visitors a compelling introduction to our beautiful island state and its myriad attractions.

Singapore Airlines has an aura that sets it apart, aiming to stand out from the crowd by being elegant rather than commercial. Their brand positioning would not allow them to go into the zone of Humour. The Singapore Girl has been an iconic image that has evolved and is recognised for its consistently high service standards.

Bottomline

Singapore Airlines has unveiled a new safety video, which will be screened on flights as of October 2025. This video focuses on the destination Singapore (much like the previous one) and takes passengers around Singapore to showcase the country. However, beyond that, it was time to modernise, as the new Singapore Airlines product and service standards will be rolled out next year as well, so this is in preparation for that.

What do you think of Singapore Airlines’ new safety video?
