Deal: American Express Reward Multiplier offering bonus vouchers through November 3, 2024

American Express has launched a new promotion, offering Cardmembers the opportunity to earn Membership Rewards points and vouchers in addition to that, subject to minimum spending. We wrote about the American Express Reward Multiplier in detail here.

The American Express Reward Multiplier is a shopping portal that allows you to earn more reward points when you pass through the portal to your desired shopping site. The points on offer differ per card variant.

American Express Platinum Card: 5X Points (1X Basic/INR 40 + 4X Bonus)
American Express Platinum Reserve Credit Card: 3X Points (1X Basic/INR 50 + 2X Bonus)
American Express Platinum Travel Credit Card: 3X Points (1X Basic/INR 50 + 2X Bonus)
American Express Gold Card: 5X Points (1X Basic/INR 50 + 4X Bonus)
American Express Membership Rewards Credit Card: 2X Points (1X Basic/INR 50 + 1X Bonus)
American Express SmartEarn Credit Card and all other Cards issued by American Express: 2X Points (1X Basic/INR 50 + 1X Bonus)

American Express allows you to make up to 25,000 monthly bonus Membership Rewards points with the Reward Multiplier. Effective August 1, 2023, Amex-issued corporate cards also grant Membership Rewards Points for Reward Multiplier.

How Does the American Express Rewards Multiplier Work?

Before you shop, you need to click through the link from the Reward Multiplier website, which takes you to a screen like this. Upon arrival on the destination website, your cart should be empty, and then you fill out your cart and order. Bonus points usually arrive within 150 days of the transaction completion.

Reward Multiplier Special Promotion offering bonus vouchers on top of bonus Membership Rewards Points

American Express is offering bonus vouchers in addition to the bonus Membership Rewards points on all cards, offering the Reward Multiplier feature for orders placed between October 3 and November 3, 2024. This is a significant hike for the lower-end American Express Cards.

During this promotional period, Reward Multiplier offers of 10X Membership Rewards points on the Black Card, 5X Membership Rewards points on American Express Platinum Card and American Express Gold Card, 3X Membership Rewards points on American Express Platinum Reserve Credit Card and American Express Platinum Travel Credit Card, and 2X Membership Rewards points on other American Express Proprietary Cards such as American Express Membership Rewards Credit Card will be applicable.

Here are the offers that have been rolled out. The offer valid for you is the one that you receive on your email.

Receive an e-voucher worth INR 25,000 on making eligible spends worth INR 500,000 or more during the Offer period. The e-voucher can be redeemed against Amazon, Tata Cliq Luxury, ITC Hotels and Emporio Armani. (5% Return on Spend).
Receive an e-voucher worth INR 15,000 on making eligible spends worth INR 300,000 or more during the Offer period. The e-voucher can be redeemed against Amazon, Tata Cliq Luxury, ITC Hotels and Emporio Armani. (5% Return on Spend)
Receive an e-voucher worth INR 10,000 on making eligible spends worth INR 200,000 or more during the Offer period. The e-voucher can be redeemed against Amazon, Tata Cliq Luxury, ITC Hotels and Emporio Armani. (5% Return on Spend)
Receive an e-voucher worth INR 5,000 on making eligible spends worth INR 100,000 or more during the Offer period. The e-voucher can be redeemed against Amazon, Tata Cliq Luxury, ITC Hotels and Emporio Armani. (5% Return on Spend)
Receive an e-voucher worth INR 2,500 on making eligible spends worth INR 50,000 or more during the Offer period. The e-voucher can be redeemed against Amazon, Tata Cliq Luxury, ITC Hotels and Emporio Armani. (5% Return on Spend)

The return on spending is pretty good at 5% for a bonus.

Qualifying purchases include all the brands listed on the Rewards Multiplier:

During the offer period, qualifying spend(s) can be made across multiple transactions and different brands/categories through Reward Multiplier. Corporate cards are not part of this offer. Spends on the Supplementary Card(s) will be accounted for under the Basic Card only.

The e-vouchers purchased via Rewards Multiplier will not be included towards the computation of the limits where vouchers will be sent out. Fulfilment will be done by February 28, 2025.

Bottomline

American Express is offering additional vouchers, up to INR 25,000, for those who spend on their American Express cards between October 3 and November 3, 2024, through their Reward Multiplier Portal. You additionally earn bonus points depending on your card as well.
