Last Call: Apply for IDFC First Club Vistara Credit Card. Applications close on September 12, 2024

When it comes to cobranded credit cards in India, Air Vistara has been sitting pretty on top over the years, with the Air Vistara suite of Credit Cards that they launched with Axis Bank back in 2016. However, the Club Vistara suite of Credit Cards will be closed for subscription within the month of September 2024. SBI Cards and IndusInd Bank have already closed new applications for their Club Vistara co-branded Credit Cards. This is as per an arrangement where no new cards will be issued while the transition from Club Vistara to Air India is completed.

It is a working assumption of ours at LiveFromALounge.com that the cobrand partnerships will be inherited by Air India Flying Returns, given their own partnership only exists with SBI Cards for now.

Given everything that moves around here, this is a great time to reconsider if you want to put a co-branded credit card in your pocket. And you have only two more days to apply for one of the best cards in the suite.

The IDFC First Vistara Credit Card is the sole co-brand credit card offered by IDFC First Bank Credit Cards. For INR 4,999 + Taxes annual fee, the card provides a Premium Economy Class Ticket redeemable on Vistara and Silver status on the Club Vistara programme, apart from one upgrade voucher on Vistara. If you are already an IDFC First Bank Credit Card customer, you can quickly get this card as a floater limit.

From there, every INR 1.5 Lakh spent on the card earns you another ticket (up to three per annum) and two more, on spending INR 9 Lakh and INR 12 Lakh within the year.

In terms of Club Vistara Points earned, you earn as below:

  • 6 CV Points/INR 200 spend: Spends up to INR 1 lakh
  • 4 CV Points/INR 200 spend: Spends above INR 1 lakh
  • 10 CV Points/INR 200 spend: On dining spends on your birthday
  • 1 CV Point/INR 200 spend: On Fuel, Insurance, Utility, Rent & Wallet Load spend (industry practice: 0 rewards)

Additionally, all sorts of spends count for the move to the next milestone as well.

Vistara Silver will transition to an Air India Silver Tier status, offering the ability to get Star Alliance Silver tier status, per the information on the frequent flyer merger from Club Vistara. Also, these premium economy tickets will be usable on Air India, including the Vistara operations, in the future, and the upgrade voucher will be usable on Air India and Vistara.

Invalid request error occurred.

This Credit Card, however, as per the arrangement between Club Vistara and IDFC First Bank Credit Cards will be closed for applications as of September 12, 2024. Which means, if you are interested in taking this card, you should apply for it now and not postpone it for the future.

Bottomline

Air India’s integration with Vistara now has a date in November 2024. This also means that Club Vistara will be merged into Air India Flying Returns over the next two months. However, if you get your status via credit cards and some of these free ticket codes right now, you should be able to gain status and some free tickets on the merged Air India in the coming months. The IDFC First Club Vistara Credit Card will be closed for new applications and issuances on September 12, 2024 and it will re-emerge, perhaps as Air India / IDFC First co-brand card at a later date. But if you want to use the card till then (your CV points migrate to Air India Flying Returns 1:1), then you should apply right away.

What do you think about the IDFC First Club Vistara Credit Card and are you applying?
