In November 2022, the Delhi Airport Plaza Premium Lounges (amongst others) were shut without prior intimation to the customers. Later, when Encalm took over lounge management, Vistara customers were sent to the Encalm Lounge at Delhi T3 (domestic). In contrast, International customers were sent to the Air India Lounge until it was closed for renovation.

The airlines have started implementing their synergies with the looming merger of Air India and Vistara. Perhaps they were waiting for the last approvals to come through so they would not be alleged to be “acting in concert” before they should have.

Vistara’s customers departing Delhi Terminal 3 for their domestic departures will be invited to use the Air India Lounge, effective September 8, 2024. The Air India Lounge was recently spruced up and had a good variety of F&B, especially since Encalm took over. You can read a full review here.

While this move is great for Vistara customers and was always coming, unfortunately, this will mean that the quiet, peaceful and usually not full Air India lounge will get crowded from here on.

Bottomline

A transition is underway for Vistara’s Lounge-eligible customers (Business Class, Platinum, and Gold Tier Club Vistara members) at Delhi Terminal 3. Effective September 8, 2024, they will be directed to use the Air India Lounge instead of the Encalm Lounge to which they are currently entitled.
