Qatar Airways to introduce Caviar in Business Class

When it comes to a business class travel experience, Qatar Airways is right there at the top with its QSuites product, which speaks for itself. But if you haven’t experienced the Qsuites, it is indeed one of the best products out there, both in terms of hard and soft products for premium cabin travel. When it launched, the QSuites were marketed as First in Business, and Akbar Al-Baker, the then-CEO of Qatar Airways, had questioned the need for a First Class when their Business Class was that good.

Qatar Airways will offer caviar in business class.

On its official Instagram account, Qatar Airways had posted two teasers, stating,

Stay tuned for something that will enhance your onboard dining experience.

The airline today confirmed that, as of August 15, 2024, it will enhance its dining service in Business Class by introducing caviar service to its menu offering.

Starting with 13 routes from 15 August, passengers flying Qatar Airways Business Class can experience the luxurious service onboard Qatar Airways business class between Doha and Boston, Dallas, Hong Kong, Houston, London, Los Angeles, Melbourne, New York, Paris, Sao Paulo, Singapore, Sydney, and Washington.

CAVIAR BC SERVICE

Qatar Airways already offers an on-demand dining feature, where passengers can dine at their preferred meal time. The new caviar service can be enjoyed as a standalone option or as part of the onboard meal courses. The Caviar Service will be available with the usual accompaniments, as well as with balik-style salmon.

Qatar Airways Senior Vice President Product Development and Design, Ms. Xia Cai, said,

As the world’s only 11-time winner of the Skytrax ‘World’s Best Business Class’ award, Qatar Airways takes pride in providing the best premium business class travel experience. The introduction of caviar service, commonly available only in first class cabins, further elevates Qatar Airways’ award-winning business class experience. We are committed to continuously enhance our onboard services to elevate the industry’s standards and delight our passengers.

This is one more feather in the cap for the airline. Qatar Airways already has some industry-leading offerings on board, such as dine-on-demand, sleeper suits from The White Company, some very fast wireless internet on board, and so on.

It is a different ball game to buy a tin of caviar in retail than as an airline. So the pricing will be very different, just like it is for top-shelf champagne at your neighbouring retail outlet.

Bottomline

Qatar Airways is launching a Caviar Service on 13 routes as of August 15, 2024. The airline will offer the Caviar to business class passengers on board as part of their meal service or as a stand-alone experience. The caviar will be served with typical accompaniments, plus balik-style salmon. This will make Qatar Airways the first airline to consistently serve caviar in business class.
