In 2021, Delhi Airport started reclaiming all the Lounge space it had handed out to various airlines and the lounge operator Plaza Premium for a large lounge to be opened at Delhi’s Terminal 3 International. This led to Lufthansa and Singapore Airlines closing down their Delhi Airport lounges, apart from the Allways Lounge, a premium offering from Plaza Premium at Delhi International Terminal 3.
On Delhi T3’s level 3, a new lounge was supposed to come up in September/October 2022, with space for over 600 people, to be operated by Encalm. Now, the lounge, called Encalm Prive, has finally opened, in July 2023, after almost ten months of delays. The complete lounge is yet to be opened, though, but the lounge operator has released some pictures of the lounge.
The lounge will serve Business Class and other customers of various airlines, such as the Frequent Flyers eligible for lounge access basis their status. While the lounge was opened earlier this week, Encalm has not fully operationalised the lounge yet, and many services are still to go online. The lounge is supposed to have facilities such as a Cigar Room, Spa and Fitness Centre, Kids’ Play Area and Sleeping Pods and a Nap Room.
The lounge is currently spread across 22,000 square feet, and the complete lounge will span 30,000 square feet when operationalised. Delhi Airport and Encalm claim this to be the largest lounge in India. Delhi Airport also claims that this is the largest airport lounge in Asia. Still, Cathay Pacific’s The Pier (Business) in Hong Kong is 35,500 square feet, while the newly inaugurated Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Lounge in Singapore (including the Business and First Class section) is at 65,000 square feet, and Emirates at Dubai Concourse B is 100,000 square feet and Al Mourjan at Doha is 110,000 square feet.
However, don’t expect the airlines to start directing you to the new lounge as of today itself. It is still unclear which airlines have already signed up for the new lounge, and most of the major carriers I checked did not yet have contracts with this lounge.
Bottomline
Encalm has operationalised the Business Class lounge at Delhi Airport, meant exclusively for guests invited by the airline. The lounge still needs to be fully operational and has been opened to the public ten months after its original timeline to open. Airlines which will offer this lounge access are yet to be determined.
What do you think of the new lounge operationalised at Delhi T3 International?

Hi: I am traveling in Qatar airlines from Dallas, US to Delhi in business class. Which lounge I can use it at Delhi international airport. Thanks
@Manju, you will get a lounge at Dallas and in Doha. Assuming you are travelling one way to Delhi, no lounge on arrival in Delhi
No. I live in US and going back in December. Thanks
Is this lounge now open for airfrance business class?
@Laurie, yes.
Nice. Thanks, Ajay. Hopefully, Air France signs up by end of this month so that I can try it when I fly early next month.
