DrukAir, the national carrier of Bhutan, has been planning to expand services for a while now. They initially used to have only two Airbus A319s which used to serve various international destinations including Kolkata, Delhi, Gaya in India and Bangkok in Thailand. There is now a 3rd plane as well. For those who don’t know, if you want to get into the landlocked country of Bhutan by air, DrukAir is your only choice to get there.
DrukAir was due to launch twice a week Mumbai-Paro direct flight after launching a flight to Singapore in September 2012. However, they have now moved the launch of this flight to March 2013 as per their website.
As per AirlineRoute.net, the new schedule is as follows:
KB206 PBH0730 – 1030BOM 319 24
KB207 BOM1130 – 1500PBH 319 24
DrukAir has a 20J 94Y configuration in its planes, making it pretty comfortable as a ride.

Just tried booking flights to paro a few weeks ago to travel there in January 2013. Heard back from the agent that there are no flights operational at the moment. Seems there is no way to fly there. I’ve also heard that one cannot drive there either. Any idea what r the options to get to Thimphu or paro?
@Wannabrb the quick and dirty way is to get a flight to Bagodara and drive from there. I am not sure about the no flights operational bit, try them online?
