Vistara launched its London route from Delhi under the International Air Bubble Agreement between India and the United Kingdom in 2020 using its Boeing 787-9 aircraft. Since then, it quickly added more flights, using the second 787-9 between Mumbai and London Heathrow, however, it had to cancel that flight given frequent Covid-19 waves in recent times. However, given the air bubbles ended, we all wondered about the future of the route. It turns out, there is good news on that count.
Vistara to continue London Heathrow operations from Delhi and go daily on May 1, 2022
Vistara, till last week, was operating the Delhi – London Heathrow flight and return (UK17/UK18) five times a week. However, this was still under the air bubble arrangement between India and the United Kingdom. As the Air Bubble arrangement came to an end on March 26, 2022, Vistara has now secured a slot at London Heathrow, as per the slot coordinator for London Heathrow Airport.

As you can see, Vistara managed to get 434 ATMs in the Summer 2022 schedule, which means, they can take off and land once a day at London Heathrow airport. Here is a screen grab from the airport slot coordinator’s website.
Vistara is now going to progressively use these slots and go daily on the Delhi – London Heathrow route in the coming weeks. In April 2022, they are offering flights six days a week, excluding Thursday and effective May 1, 2022, they will do daily on these flights. The inventory for all seven days a week has already been uploaded on the Vistara website and is being sold already.

Vistara will go daily on flights between Delhi and London Heathrow as of May 1, 2022, and in the meanwhile will operate flights six days a week between Delhi and London for the coming four weeks. This should help the summer travellers to London, as well as those who are looking to travel on business after two years of Grounding.

@Siddharth T. Here is what happened. Our article was copied by Simple Flying, which is a content shop which does not really feel the need to do research but just lift. If you read their article it quotes others all the time. Then Zee picked up their article and wrote their own article. Ironically, the airline has not made a press release yet. But thank you for recognising our work. We try hard to give an understanding rather than just regargle content.
Considering that Vistara is stopping their DEL – CDG route from May 1st, this is just a reallocation of the same aircraft. Source is the Vistara website that has listed the last date of the CDG DEL route as being 1-May-2022. It’s visible if you search Vistara Paris and got to the “Destinations” page. Very unfortunate considering the number of Indians who would be looking to book Europe itineraries, and will now have to look for other options.
@Flyboy1331, Vistara is selling Paris 2x a week and Frankfurt 3X a week through many months ahead. Trust them to not update the schedules on their own website though.
