IndiGo has been quietly building a userbase for their 6E Rewards programme, which uses credit card co-brand partners to allow you to earn cash to spend on IndiGo’s flights. The airline now claims it has more than 200,000 members in the 6E Rewards programme. IndiGo already had a co-brand product with HDFC Bank on the MasterCard platform, and recently launched a co-brand card with Kotak Bank on the Visa platform.
Earn up to 4% rewards on fuel spending now at Indian Oil outlets
Last evening, IndiGo announced a partnership with IndianOil for their 6E Rewards Ka-ching credit cardholders. Under the partnership, Ka-ching cardholders will earn accelerated reward points of up to 4% on fuel spends at more than 35,000 IndianOil outlets across India. With these earnings, Ka-ching cardholders will earn free flight tickets with 6E Rewards from fuel purchases.
Through April 30, 2022, now IndiGo’s co-brand cardholders can earn up to 4% rewards on their spending on Indian Oil Fuel pumps.
- Earn 3% 6E Rewards for spending on 6E Rewards credit card at Indian Oil pumps
- Earn 4% 6E Rewards for spending on 6E Rewards XL credit card at Indian Oil pumps
The 6E Rewards earnings will be applicable only when payment is done using the 6E Rewards Ka-ching credit card on IndianOil Retail Fuel Stations in India. 6E Rewards will be credited within 90 days from the date of the successful transaction subject to validation for such transaction by IOCL. However, no fuel surcharge waiver is applicable, so be mindful of that.
The 6E Rewards will be credited on a maximum value of INR 25,000/- spent on fuel in a calendar month. The capping is valid only on the 6E Rewards credit card and not on the XL variant.
William Boulter, the Chief Commercial Officer, IndiGo said,
We are delighted to partner with IndianOil for 6E Rewards program, enabling accelerated points on fuels spends. This partnership will allow members of the IndiGo 6E Rewards program to convert all their spends into free air tickets, while also unlocking many more privileges. We have observed over time that fuel is one of the highest category spends on Ka-ching credit cards and with this partnership, IndiGo will offer all-round earnings on daily spends from grocery, dining, entertainment, travel, and now fuel as well. We believe in providing an unparalleled experience and strive to consistently enhance our engagement through these partnerships.
For the record, even back in the day, IOCL was the only fuel company trying to set up differentiation for themselves in this commoditised market. Indian Oil had signed up to award JPMiles earlier on. Although here, the process is much simpler as all IOCL transactions count. And this is easily one of the highest tangible cashback being given for fuel spends.
Bottomline
IndiGo’s 6E Rewards and Indian Oil have joined hands to provide accelerated rewards for fuel spends on the 6E Rewards credit cardmembers. Initially, the period of the accelerated earnings is valid till April 2022, and you will earn 3%/6% Rewards on your spends on the regular/XL Variant.
Anybody excited to earn more points for their fuel spends on the IndiGo co-brand cards?
