Good News: Singapore removed from India’s At-Risk list [No Home Quarantine on arrival anymore]

As of December 1, 2021, new surveillance rules have been applied for testing on arrival in India in the wake of the Omicron variant of the SARS-CoV2 virus, which causes Covid-19. As per this requirement, countries listed on the at-risk list of India are supposed to be tested on arrival and then undergo a seven-day extended home quarantine before they can get out in the open.

Singapore is no longer on the At-Risk list

Singapore was one surprise name on the list. And it has now been removed. This means that arrivals from December 9, 2021, to India from Singapore will no longer require a week-long quarantine and then a test-to-release on day 8 to see if everything is still alright.

The current list of At-risk countries includes:

  1. Countries in Europe, including The United Kingdom
  2. South Africa
  3. Brazil
  4. Botswana
  5. China
  6. Ghana
  7. Mauritius
  8. New Zealand
  9. Zimbabwe
  10. Tanzania
  11. Hong Kong
  12. Israel

Bottomline

Singapore has been removed from India’s At Risk countries, whereby it means that people can travel between Singapore and India without quarantine in India. Also, with the commencement of the VTL operations, one can head to Singapore without any quarantine from now on as well.

Anyone planning India-Singapore or reverse trips now that the restrictions have eased on both sides?
