With the discovery of Omicron, we are back to square one in terms of installing new tests and requirements for travel and tourism. Many countries have gone down this path, including India, the UK and the USA, and France has also joined the group.
France to require negative Covid-19 test from all visitors
Effective Saturday, December 4, 2021, France has announced that it will require all travellers from outside of the European Union, whether vaccinated or not, to present a negative Covid-19 test to enter the country. This requirement is for travellers above the age of 12.
Beginning Saturday, France will require all non-EU travellers to show a test result where the sample should be taken within 48 hours of arrival in France, while only unvaccinated travellers from the Schengen zone will need to show proof of a test taken 24 hours before arrival, French government spokesperson Gabriel Attal mentioned at a news conference earlier this week.
The new rules will apply to all countries outside the EU, regardless of a person’s vaccination status. Arrivals from the Schengen zone will only need to present a negative test if they are not fully vaccinated.
While the Twitter account of the French Embassy in India or their website does not have mention of this coming to life yet, nor does any French Government website, it would be ideal to take note of this requirement since many travel from India to France on an almost daily basis. The condition does show up on the Air France travel requirements website, though.
Also, EgyptAir has confirmed this on Twitter.
all EGYPTAIR passengers above 12 years old, whether vaccinated or not, travelling to Paris are required to provide negative PCR certificate or Antigen test result maximum 48 hours prior to the flight.

Bottomline
Effective December 4, 2021, France will require non-EU arrivals to bring along an RT-PCR/RAT test report taken within 48 hours of arrival in France.
What do you make of the new requirement for vaccinated travellers to test before arrival in France?

So its only test 48 hours prior to arrival- no isolation on arrival right ?
@Anusuya, if you check out as free of Covid then obviously not! I hear some random testing has been enabled at CDG too.
