As reported earlier, Priority Pass and Plaza Premium Lounges are parting ways as of July 1, 2021. This means you won’t be able to use your Priority Pass at various Plaza Premium Lounges come July 2021. However, Plaza Premium Lounges has gone ahead and joined hands with Dragon Pass as their network of choice to offer access to their cardmembers.
The Collinson Group has released a list of 57 Plaza Premium Lounges, which will no longer be accessible with Priority Pass as of July 1, 2021. You can check out the list on the website of Collinson, and here is a ready reckoner PDF we created. The countries where these lounges are present are:
- China
- Australia
- Philippines
- Saudi Arabia
- United Arab Emirates
- Canada
- Finland
- Hong Kong
- Turkey
- Malaysia
- United Kingdom
- Macau
- Brazil
- Italy
- Oman
- Singapore
- Taiwan
Priority Pass already has a replacement lounge available in many cases, but in many places, they don’t.
Indian Lounges will still be available on the Priority Pass.
It seems the Indian lounges of the Plaza Premium network are spared from cutting away from the Priority Pass network. As a recap, in India, there was a brief moment in early 2021, where the Plaza Premium Lounges went offline from the Priority Pass network. However, this situation was resolved within a month, where perhaps a renegotiation happened, and the lounges were available again on the Priority Pass network. Fortunately, that means that the Indian lounges on the network will continue to be open to Priority Pass users for now.
Bottomline
Priority Pass and Plaza Premium Lounges will part ways in many geographies on July 1, 2021. However, the Indian lounges operated by Plaza Premium will continue to be accessible with the network of Priority Pass even after this date.
What do you think of the chaos coming our way because of Priority Pass users queuing up at Plaza Premium Lounges even after July 1, 2021?

I have been offered an upgrade to “Classic Banking” by HDFC. I am currently a “Prime Banking” customer. I am not sure if this is an upgrade or a downgrade, going by just the name “Classic”. Please can someone help.
Thanks.
Looks like the Lounge sector is indeed gearing up for big changes post-Covid. The Dragonpass group looks ambitious. Competition always augurs well for customers. Any idea Ajay about how the Diners Black card will work across these lounges? Like would DCB be acceptable at all Plaza Premium/Dragonpass, Priority Pass lounges? Any idea how it would effect DCB users? I have never really understood how exactly the Diners Group goes on with their lounge tie-ups….any insight would be greatly appreciated 🙂 Thanks !!!
