The Connaught Hotel, which has been around Delhi for a long time now, and was handed over to Indian Hotels in 2018, is back on the skyline, having been inaugurated a few days ago as a part of the IHCL’s SeleQtions portfolio. SeleQtions was a new brand launched by IHCL alongside Taj and Vivanta to bring together their properties which had their distinctive recognition, what IHCL refers to as “named resorts”. There are 16 SeleQtions properties right now.
The Connaught has been upgraded and renovated by the Taj to reopen as a 104-room property, conceptualised by the Swedish designer, Christian Lundwal of LWA. The hotel’s design is influenced by the Georgian architecture of Connaught Place, with an overlay of contemporary styling, furnishings & accents.
Located in the heart of the city, The Connaught is close to all the major tourist destinations in the city, including India Gate, Janpath and Jantar Mantar. It is also right in the midst of the Central Business District, which means when you are travelling again, you have access to major corporations next door.
The hotel has an all-day diner, The Hub, which takes centre stage and will serve global and local cuisines, whilst featuring some of Delhi’s legendary favourites. The restaurant opens into an al-fresco dining venue, and also extends into a stylish cocktail bar. The Connaught has state-of-the-art spaces for business conferences or social gatherings, including a 2000 sq. ft. open-air terrace.
With the addition of this hotel, IHCL will have 15 hotels in Delhi-NCR, including two under development.
Rooms start at INR 6,500 at The Connaught.
