In the world of hotel loyalty programmes, Marriott and Hyatt seem to be having a toe-to-toe right now about who is going to be taking better care of the members during the pandemic. Marriott recently had a promotion where they offered all their properties on off-peak rates through July 2020.

Now, World of Hyatt has launched a promotion, where you can redeem points for your stays and experiences over the coming months and get some of those points back. This is in addition to another World of Hyatt promotion offering up to triple points on paid stays through September 2020.

Hyatt offering 15-25% off award redemptions

World of Hyatt is offering members 15-25% off award redemptions as a part of a new promotion for which you need to register here. World of Hyatt Credit Card members (not available in India), get another 10% points discount. World of Hyatt Credit Cardholders needs to register here, to get a total of 25% in savings. To benefit from the promotion, you need to register by September 1, 2020.

The promotion is valid for redemptions where the redemption stay is completed between July  8 and October 8, 2020. Even previously booked stays will qualify for a discount, as long as the stay is consumed during the promotion period. Stays can be made as award redemptions, points+cash stays, room upgrades, spa and dining redemptions and so on. Additionally, the redemptions can be at Hyatt, SLH or MGM properties.

Once you consume the stay, points will be refunded by World of Hyatt into your account within 6-8 weeks. Members can get at the most 30,000 points per “stay”. Those with the Hyatt Credit Card can earn up to 60,000 points per “stay” (up to 30K for the 15% and up to 30K for the additional 10%).

Not just that, Hyatt is also offering free parking on award stays at the moment, not only for Globalists but everyone else as well. For Globalists, who anyways get free parking on award stays, they will also receive free parking on paid stays till October 8, 2020.

In a nutshell, The World of Hyatt 15-25% discount for award redemptions is a great one and would have been excellent in another year when travel would have been full swing. For now, use the promotion only if you have to.
