Business Class would give you one complimentary hotel night and First Class would give you two complimentary hotel nights. The Residence passengers receive two complimentary nights at the Emirates Palace.
How does this Etihad Free Stopover work?
Complete your booking as usual and have a confirmed economy ticket with a stopover in Abu Dhabi. Then, choose from participating hotels on the Etihad website and complete your stopover booking there. You can also book through your travel agent or Etihad’s destination management division – Hala Abu Dhabi. They recommend making your booking at least 3 days before travel in order for your request to be processed.
Hotel Options
At certain hotels, you’re able to have the option of 24hr check-in. This means that if you check-in at 7 pm, your check-out will be at 7 pm the next day. Keep in mind, the prices stated on the Etihad stopover booking portal are per person per night (including breakfast and service charge). For example, a randomly chosen weekend in June 2018, let’s take a look at the Radisson Blu Hotel available with the offer and the price package comparisons.
Radisson Blu Hotel, Yas Island
Located 6 km from the Abu Dhabi airport, the hotel is further from town but is closer to Ferrari World and Yas Waterworld.
- 24hr check-in: Available
- Room Type: Standard Room, 2 nights, double occupancy with breakfast
- Etihad Offer: 91 USD
- Normal Rate: 270 USD
Things to Remember
- Full package price is payable at booking, prices are per person per night.
- Offer is only available for transiting guests via Abu Dhabi to any destination on Etihad network.
- The offer doesn’t include meals other than breakfast (unless otherwise specified), room service or hotel extras and transport cost to departure airport unless specified.
- Hotel rates are inclusive of 10% service charge, 6% tourism charge, 5% VAT
- Hotel reservations need to be made a minimum of 3 days in advance for the request to be processed.
- An Abu Dhabi municipality fee of 15 AED per person is payable extra directly to the hotel.
- I think that this is a great offer to avail if you are travelling internationally within the Etihad destinations network. With no hidden charges, the stopover hotel packages are terrific whether you’re travelling for business or pleasure.

Hi, If I land at midnight can I check in immediately or do I need to wait for the morning to check in?
I land on 15 Oct at 22h00
My booking is only from 16 Oct
Does anyone know how you go about booking this? I have a 21-hour layover in August from South Africa to New York, but I can’t find any other information on this
@Kim, you can find out more here – https://www.etihad.com/en-ae/plan-and-book/book-stopovers/essential-stopovers/. You can call Etihad directly as well.
The article doesn’t list India as one of the countries in the ‘countries in the offer’. Is this offer applicable to Indians?
@Donald, this promotion specifically is not for Indian passengers. Although there is another one I guess where they give you one night free
Is this offered for an award booking?
@Frank, as long as you have a confirmed economy ticket, it should be fine.
