One of the most luxurious airlines out there is Emirates, which is also referred to as the unofficial national airline of India, considering their market share on international travel from India is pretty solid, and India is their largest market.
Emirates now has a new promotion going, where they are offering premium cabin travellers in Business Class the opportunity to upgrade to First class on one side of the trip. This is offered from Delhi and Kolkata departures and is available for booking through May 31, 2016. Here is the promotion page.
As per the promotion, EK is offering you an upgrade from J to F on one side of the trip, and not just on a single segment. Which means, for instance, if you booked DEL-DXB-JFK, you get upgraded to First Class all the way. Now, Emirates was the first airline to put a shower on their A380s, and their First class suites are pretty much up there as one of the most widely available product (given the number of A380s present in Etihad’s fleet)
To avail this offer, you need to select First Class one the side where you wish to upgrade to First Class. The fare rules will display the upgrade.
I don’t know why does Mumbai not get this promotion, but if you’re flying from Delhi, high chance you get this offer on an Emirates A380 as well.

Your are right about the “unofficial national airline of India” title!
This isn’t a “free” promotion. A return from DEL to JFK in J is around Rs. 2.5 lakhs, while the “one-way first class” fare is Rs. 3.5 lakhs, for the same dates. Yes its somewhat cheaper than say a return first class, but this promotion is deceiving
