Etihad Guest offering 2-3x qualification and bonus miles

Etihad Guest has offered many a times before double miles for flying in their Economy cabin, and triple miles for flying their Business/First Class cabins. Those offers pop up every now and then.

For a change, Etihad is now offering an opportunity to earn up to 3x elite qualification miles, while also providing an opportunity to earn Bonus redeemable miles. To be able to participate in this promotion, you need to book your tickets for travel on the Etihad network by February 29, 2016, and travel has to be completed between February 10 and June 30, 2016.

There will be an additional step however, that you need to register for this promotion, but you need to do it by sending an email to bonusmiles@etihad.ae with your Etihad Guest number in the subject line. No one told them it is 2016, and they could just use better technology to capture registration.

An important detail is that this promotion is only valid for flights on Etihad’s own metal, and not on codeshare flights. Miles will be credited a month after the flight has been completed.

Having said that, you do need to be in the know about Etihad’s problematic record on doing automatic credits for these promotions, or even their partners. Back in the day, it took me tonnes of time and emails to get a paltry 217 miles credited for a particular flight.

As a reminder, Etihad miles are useful for travelling on Jet Airways. However, that value vastly devolved over the past year.

Are you making use of this promotion to fly on Etihad revenue tickets somewhere?
