Bottomline

I have stayed at The Park Bangalore and The Park Hyderabad and to be honest the standards of both hotels very quite poor, and I was surprised to see them participate in Starwood portfolio. The Park Hotels are all located centrally in Tier 1 cities, and all of them are SPG Category 1 and 2 hotels with dirt cheap rates. This made some of them an excellent choice to earn credits for SPG. Also, very affordable opportunities for the redemption of Starpoints.

Have you utilized the partnership between Design Hotels and Starwood Preferred Guest? I am pleased to see Park Hotels leaving Starwood Preferred Guest. What about you?

Comments

  1. I agree with your assessment. I’ve stayed at The Park in HYD, BLR, and DEL (because they were SPG affiliated). I liked the one in Hyderabad, but frankly, the other two were dumps.

There was definitely some value considering the low point redemption requirement, but overall I’m not really that sorry to see them go.

  2. It’ll be interesting to see if this is somewhat of a prelude to all Design Hotels leaving in August, when the programs combine.
