I am not sure if I am affected by this news or not, but this morning I was fixing up some travel reservations and I happened to hop over to the IHG website. I’m due to stay at the InterContinental Marine Drive later this month, because I managed to get a shot at the PointsBreak where it was going for 5000 points per night.
At the bottom of my reservation page, here is the rate for Internet that comes up at $350 per night. Ouch!
I think I should be glad that I still have some sort of status with the InterContinental chain to be able to get Internet free on a stay that would cost me $170 on a high rate night (booked 1 week before coming to hotel).

I saw that before I stayed there last month. I think it is free for all ihg members. They didn’t charge us anything for internet.
I chatted with an online rep about the price before I started the trip, but he could only tell me that my internet would be free. He wouldn’t address the obvious pricing error.
Are they running any promotion of 5000 points per night currently at this property?
You’d hope it’s in rupees, even if it isn’t paying for internet in this day and age is absurd. I don’t know how they’ve been able to get away with it for so long, especially when hostels that charge $2/night can give it away for free.
Must be in Rupees, The website may not have affixed the correct currency to the figure.
