Last month, I wrote about a 30% bonus on JPMiles that was being offered on conversion of points from other credit card companies and hotel points to JPMiles. The bonus was originally supposed to last through March 31, 2017, but the promotion has now been extended through April 15, 2017.
The promotion from JetPrivilege, offers an up to 30% bonus on JPMiles conversion. The bonus kicks in when you transfer to at least 5,000 JPMiles. Between 5,000 to 19,999 JPMiles converted get a 20% bonus, while 20,000 JPMiles and upwards converted get a 30% bonus. Additionally, if you have never converted your points into JPMiles before, you get another 1000 JPMiles as a bonus.
You do need to register for this promotion, and after registration, you can initiate a transfer from the following programs:
Banks
- American Express
- Axis Bank
- Citibank India
- Citibank UAE
- Emirates Islamic Bank
- HDFC Bank
- HSBC
- IndusInd Bank
- ICICI Bank
- Kotak Mahindra Bank
- SBI Card
- SBI Rewardz
- Standard Chartered Bank India
- Standard Chartered Bank Sri Lanka
- YES Bank
Hotel Programs
- Le Club AccorHotels
- Carlson Rezidor Hotels
- Hilton Hotels
- IHG Rewards
- Hyatt Hotels
- ITC Hotels
- Shangri-La Hotels
- The Park Hotels
- Wyndham Hotels
Other Programs
- Indian Oil Corporation Limited (XTRAPOWER Fleet Card Program)
- Payback
- Thanks Again
- In this case, the bonus is applied on a per-transaction basis and not on a cumulative basis. For instance, if you transfer 5000 JPMiles, then you get a 1000 JPMiles extra. When you transfer 2000 & 3000 Miles from 2 different programs, you won’t get the bonus. Also, this promotion is not applicable for co-branded credit cards.
Bottomline
If you transfer to receive more than 19999 JPMiles, then you get 30% bonus on the miles converted, which is one of the highest bonuses to expect on JPMiles conversion from other point currencies. If you are looking to convert some credit card points to JPmiles, this is a great opportunity to do so!
Awaiting your views on JPMiles versus Citi Premiere miles.
Do you recommend JPMiles as a better miles accumulating program or Citi Premiere miles? I feel Citi has a better plan? What do you say..
The question emanates from the fact that I have around 40000 Citi Premiere miles …Should I convert them to JPMiles?
?? Your views?
Is there any online process by which one can convert Diners Club points to JP miles ?
I see only offline process to fill up a form and submit to bank, which takes around 10 business days !
@Viral In the online netbanking site of HDFC you could use the convert rewards function under Credit Cards.
Thanks for quick follow up, @Ajay !
I don’t have HDFC savings account to use net banking. I’m only Credit card customer and at web interface for credit cards there does not seem any option to convert points to miles.
Shall I connect with customer care for this ?
Is this offer valid if the request for conversion is made within this period or the points have to be credited into account prior to Apr 15? i believe Citi take 15 days to credit the points to the airline for conversion.
@KG I guess to Jet Airways it should be much faster.
