Entering our Teen Years at LiveFromALounge.com

I woke up feeling a bit nostalgic this morning, thinking about that time in 2011 when a conversation led to the launch of this website on this day that year. What started as a humble blog in 2011 has transformed into a trusted companion for travellers worldwide, offering insights, tips, and stories that have enriched countless journeys.

The genesis of LiveFromALounge.com was fueled by a passion for air travel and a desire to share knowledge about the often-confusing world of frequent flyer programmes. Founded in 2011, the site began with a mission to provide readers with practical advice and detailed reviews to help them navigate their travel experiences more efficiently. The early posts focused on demystifying airline loyalty programs’ nuances, offering strategies for maximising miles, and sharing reviews of flights, lounges, and hotels.

Over the years, LiveFromALounge.com has chronicled many significant moments in the industry and the world of travel. LiveFromALounge.com was at the forefront, providing detailed guides and reviews of programmes like Jet Airways’ JetPrivilege (now InterMiles), Club Vistara and Air India’s Flying Returns.

The introduction of premium credit cards with travel benefits revolutionised how travellers earned and redeemed points. LiveFromALounge.com provided in-depth analyses of cards such as the American Express Platinum, Citi Prestige (now Axis Olympus), and HDFC Infinia. These reviews helped readers choose the right cards to complement their travel lifestyles.

There has also been good and bad news along the way. For a young establishment like ours, we’ve seen multiple M&As in airlines, multiple deaths and rebirths of airlines and everything that comes with it.

The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 brought unprecedented challenges to the travel industry. During this tumultuous period, LiveFromALounge.com became an essential source of information and support for travellers facing uncertainty. We provided real-time updates on travel restrictions, airline policies, and safety measures. We aimed to help readers navigate the rapidly changing landscape, offering guidance on cancellations, refunds, and rebooking.

Over the years, LiveFromALounge’s focus has evolved but not changed. Every day, we attempt to provide our readers with a curation of the most critical stories in travel from an Indian and global perspective.

Along the way, we’ve also had an opportunity to be part of shaping the future of travel, working to help loyalty programme initiatives and devise newer, better and better passenger experience initiatives at others sometimes.

A Heartfelt Thank You

This milestone is not just a celebration of time passed but a testament to our readers’ unwavering support and engagement. Your loyalty, feedback, and shared experiences have been the wind beneath our wings, propelling us to new heights. Each comment, each shared story, and each piece of feedback has been a cornerstone in building the vibrant community that LiveFromALounge.com is today.

We look forward with renewed enthusiasm and commitment as we celebrate this incredible journey. The future holds exciting prospects: more in-depth reviews, timely travel news, insider tips, and a continued dedication to providing unparalleled travel insights. We remain steadfast in our mission to be your go-to resource for all things travel and travel credit cards.

Thank you for being a part of our journey. Here’s to 13 years of soaring high and to many more adventures together in the skies. Safe travels, and see you in the lounge!

  6. I was 17 traveling solo in 2016 summer at BOM T2 flying 6E to CJB,
Came to airport early. Flight was at 8pm
Flight was delayed by 2.5 hours. No refreshment given.
Had only ₹100 in Cash, Debit card had some issue, everything at airport was ₹150+
Went to CCD and had a coffee for ₹100. That’s it.
No meals on Board 6E flew home starved. Had good dinner upon arriving.
The first thing I did after getting home is searched how to find Cheap food at mumbai airport..
That’s how I got introduced to world of LFAL

Went through the article, applied for that HDFC DEBIT CARD..
Next summer at the same BOM T2 used that debit card and accessed the lounge for ₹2 and ate dinner over there and flew home in that same flight with full stomach.
After that there is no Turing back from LFAL
