Air India’s Flying Returns frequent flyer program is implementing new security measures to authenticate users, which includes a verification process for everyone, to prevent the creation of bogus accounts, and to weed out existing bogus accounts.
As a part of this measure, if you already have an Air India Flying Returns account, you should log into the account and provide the Air India team with information and certain identity documents to authenticate your account.
Air India has a new promotion till the end of 2015, where tickets booked via the AI website will help you get a free economy or business class ticket as well. You need to ticket and travel between October 15, 2015 to December 31, 2015, and then claim your free ticket with Air India.
Air India SBI Credit Cards just introduced a new condition where you cannot transfer small amount of miles, but in chunks of 5000 only. Also, a new requirement has been introduced for earning points before burning them.
Air India is implementing a lot of changes on their frequent flyer program. Here is a summary of the changes implemented in round 1, which went live from April 1, 2015.

A few days ago, I reported that the promised tier upgrades and status matches for Air India, which are available via their co-branded card with SBI were not going through. There was either a technology problem, or there was a snap of relationships between both parties. We don’t know. I recently wrote about the launch of Air India’s flight between Delhi and Moscow, which started operations from yesterday, on their Boeing 787 planes. Now, Air India is offering a double miles promotion on their frequent flyer program Flying Returns for those who choose to fly between India and Russia, for flying with them between July 18, 2014 to September 30, 2014. If you will be connecting from anywhere in India, you won’t get double miles for your intra-India flight, but on your India-Russia or vice versa route you should clock double miles.
