For the Starbucks appreciators in the house, Starbucks is running a new promotion together with American Express, where if you pay for your Starbucks with your American Express, you get 20% off for the next month. Here are all the details you need to know about this Starbucks American Express promotion.
Starbucks is essentially offering a 20% discount, up to INR 200, on your next ten transactions with Starbucks. The promotion is valid from March 6, through April 6, 2019, across all the Starbucks stores in India. The promotion is applicable only on American Express consumer cards, issued in India. A minimum transaction of INR 500 is required for the discount to reflect.
Now, you can only use this promotion at the stores, and not online. You can use the promotion to reload your Starbucks card as well, but only at the store. That is because the discount is applied on the terminal, and not at the store. So, if you want to get your Starbucks stars as well, you could walk into a store, reload your Starbucks card, get 20% off as well as get your stars. The promotion is not valid on International and Corporate Amex cards. Here are all the T&Cs.
If you don’t have an American Express card already as we’ve mentioned before, the following cards are available for free at the moment, and usually get processed within a week:
- American Express Membership Rewards Credit Card (you also get 2000 Membership Rewards free)
- American Express Platinum Travel Credit Card
That just means you get 2000 INR discount on a card that you got for free.
So, I know at least a few folks personally who could benefit from this promotion. What are you waiting for?

Would IndusInd/ICICI AMEX cards qualify as consumer cards?
