IndiGo announces Delhi – Manchester flights; Also flights to Cambodia, Bali and Krabi

The IndiGo juggernaut can’t stop, and it won’t stop. Following a significant domestic expansion, the airline is currently spearheading international growth in the region for Indian carriers, while it awaits the delivery of its XLR aircraft. The airline has just announced a spate of new flights. Here are the details.

IndiGo launches flights to Copenhagen on October 8, 2025

IndiGo has already announced a new long-haul route from Mumbai to Copenhagen, set to launch on October 8, 2025.  The airline will operate thrice-weekly service with Boeing 787‑9 Dreamliners wet‑leased from Norse Atlantic Airways.  Copenhagen becomes IndiGo’s 44th international destination (138th overall) and marks its debut in Scandinavia.

IndiGo currently operates a four-times-weekly service between Mumbai and Manchester, which was its first flight launched with the Norse Atlantic 787-9. From there, it launched the Mumbai-Amsterdam service, which is now a six-times-weekly service. Between these two flights, two Boeing 787-9 aircraft leased from Norse Atlantic Airways are being used. You can read our first impressions of the flight here.

IndiGo flights to London Heathrow now have slots.

IndiGo had announced flights to London Heathrow earlier in August 2025. At the time, it was wondered where they were getting the slots from. It has now been revealed that they have leased slots from Virgin Atlantic for six months (the Northern Winter Schedule), specifically one slot pair for daily operations between Mumbai and London Heathrow. The flight will be an evening arrival and a nighttime departure from London Heathrow. Flights are expected to begin on October 26, 2025, when the winter schedule takes effect. Flights are not on sale at the moment, and IndiGo’s CEO has mentioned flights to start at the end of October 2025, so it might be a couple of days later as well. We’ll see.

This image is a "Slot Swap Request Form" from Airport Coordination Ltd. It includes details such as the airport (LHR), season (W25), and date (01-Oct-25). The table lists flight information, including operator/flight number, arrival/departure, times held and required, date range, days of operation, aircraft type and seats, routing, service type, and terminal. There are sections for additional comments and reasons for the swap, with options for lease, sale, permanent, improvement only, return, temporary, and joint operation. The form features the Airport Coordination Limited logo.

IndiGo is testing the market, and it will undoubtedly receive a positive response. They might buy slots or request them on a more permanent basis later.

IndiGo plans Delhi – Manchester flights from November 15, 2025

IndiGo has also planned to launch flights between Delhi and Manchester, effective November 15, 2025. Flights are scheduled to operate four times weekly, in addition to three times weekly, between Mumbai and Manchester. The arrival at Manchester is similarly timed, so the tweak will be done for departure at Delhi.

The image is a table showing the schedule of flights between Delhi and Manchester effective from 15 November 2025. It includes two routes: 1. Delhi to Manchester: - Flight number: 6E 0033 - Days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday - Departure: 4:05 - Arrival: 9:30 2. Manchester to Delhi: - Flight number: 6E 0034 - Days: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday - Departure: 11:15 - Arrival: 02:10 (+1)The route is currently unavailable for booking. IndiGo will be the only Indian carrier flying directly between Delhi and Manchester, just like it does between Mumbai and Manchester.

IndiGo’s expansion into Southeast Asia from Delhi

IndiGo is also fortifying the Delhi Hub to Southeast Asia. The airline is adding new international destinations and increasing frequencies on existing routes. The new services should enable the airline to expand its presence in Southeast Asia and support connections into its European routes from Delhi.

  • Delhi – Denpasar, Bali (Indonesia): IndiGo will launch a daily service between Delhi and Denpasar, Bali, starting October 24, 2025. The flights will be operated using Airbus A320 family aircraft, with a brief refuelling halt at Bhubaneswar on both the outbound and inbound legs. This will be IndiGo’s 3rd route to Bali after Bengaluru and Mumbai. IndiGo will be competing with Air India’s nonstop flight. I expect that once IndiGo starts inducting its A321XLRs, this 3,600-mile flight will be moved to that equipment as a direct competitor to Air India’s Delhi-Denpasar (Bali) route, which is operated with an Airbus A321LR.

Delhi to Denpasar: - Flight number: 6E 1611 - Frequency: Daily* - Departure: 5:45 - Arrival: 17:30 2. Denpasar to Delhi: - Flight number: 6E 1612 - Frequency: Daily* - Departure: 11:20 - Arrival: 18:05 A note at the bottom indicates a refueling halt at Bhubaneswar.

  • Delhi – Krabi (Thailand): IndiGo is expanding its presence in Thailand with a third flight between India and Krabi. IndiGo will introduce four weekly flights between Delhi and Krabi effective October 26, 2025. The airline currently serves Bengaluru and Mumbai to Krabi. Flights on this sector will be operated with IndiGo’s Airbus A320 aircraft. Bengaluru flights will be reduced to thrice weekly to facilitate Delhi flights.

The image is a table showing the flight schedule between Delhi and Krabi effective from 26 October 2025. It includes two routes: Delhi to Krabi and Krabi to Delhi. - For Delhi to Krabi, the flight number is 6E 1069, operating on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, departing at 15:40 and arriving at 21:35. - For Krabi to Delhi, the flight number is 6E 1070, operating on the same days, departing at 11:15 and arriving at 14:35.

  • Delhi – Bangkok (Increased Frequency): IndiGo will double its service to twice-daily flights starting October 26, 2025. The enhanced services on the Delhi – Bangkok route will be operated with IndiGo’s A321 aircraft offering its Stretch product.

In addition, IndiGo has already announced the resumption of flights to China, with the first flight scheduled to be between Kolkata and Guangzhou, as of late October 2025. There will also be a Delhi-Guangzhou flight after that.

Pieter Elbers, Chief Executive Officer, IndiGo, said,

Delhi has always been central to IndiGo’s growth story. Introducing new flights and additional frequencies from the National Capital will help us offer seamless and convenient air travel to our customers, enabling international connectivity from domestic as well as international locations via Delhi, and strengthening India’s links to key global markets. As we continue to grow internationally, developing globally competitive and locally connected aviation hubs in India will be a cornerstone of our growth strategy, accelerating our journey to become a global aviation leader by 2030.

But that is not all. Earlier in September 2025, IndiGo also announced flights to Cambodia. IndiGo will operate direct flights between  Kolkata and Siem Reap, Cambodia, from November 13, 2025. IndiGo will operate these flights three times a week using its Airbus A320neo aircraft. This makes IndiGo the first Indian carrier to offer direct connectivity between the two countries.

IndiGo has also announced daily flights connecting Mumbai to Denpasar in Bali, Indonesia, starting October 18, 2025. This addition
marks the second route to Bali, complementing IndiGo’s existing daily flights between Bengaluru and Bali. This flight will have a refuelling stop at Chennai. We already discussed the Delhi to Bali flight at the beginning.

Bottomline

IndiGo has announced several major plans for the end of the year, including the launch of new flights around Southeast Asia and additional flights to the UK. This includes flights to London Heathrow, Manchester, Krabi, Bali and more flights to Bangkok.

What do you make of IndiGo’s big bang plans for the quarter?

  1. I started avoiding Indigo flights that are longer than 1-2 hours due to horribly cramped seat pitch. Has that improved?

  2. Wow! Massive increase. Is the equipment mainly coming from the A320x aircraft that were grounded due to engine issues?
Do you know how many aircraft are still grounded for Indigo?
