Goa relaxes travel guidelines significantly: No CoVid-19 test required to enter state, bars open again

Goa, which was one of the first states in India to declare itself CoVid-19 free, had decided to open itself to the tourists, with precautions in July 2020.

At that time, to arrive in Goa for tourism, you needed to satisfy the following criteria before arrival,

  • Pre-book a hotel approved by the tourism department
  • Carry a CoVid-19 negative test certificate while entering Goa. Otherwise, you will be tested and quarantined before your results are out.
  • Only Domestic tourists are allowed for the moment

Now, Goa is ready to open even more. As of September 1, 2020, Goa has removed the restriction that people need to bring a CoVid-19 negative certificate or get tested on arrival, and stay in quarantine till the time your results don’t come out.

Goa has also decided that bars will be allowed to open in Goa from September 1, 2020, with social distancing measures in place. This would not include beach-side shacks at the moment.

What do you think of making a quick trip to Goa as tourism reopens in the state?
