More details about the American Express Lounge Mumbai

Like I wrote in October, American Express has decided to open a new lounge in Mumbai Airport’s Terminal 2. For the longest time, there was speculation about who gets access and where is the lounge. Some of those questions are now answered. Like I stated in my initial post, the lounge is going to be situated in Mumbai’s Terminal 2, on the domestic terminal, that means on level 3.

The new American Express Lounge will be opening up across Gate 65, which means that those who will have access will be able to hop across to Burger King, and then instead of going in, walk right across to the lounge for a sumptuous buffet and/or a-la-carte dining.

Earlier this week, the preparations to open the lounge were in full swing. Here is a picture of how the lounge would look like. American Express has gone with their global imagery for this one, with the green wall at the entrance.

The lounge is up and running as of December 14 and once I am back in India, I’ll be then able to take you inside.

Welcome to Mumbai American Express!

Have you guys had a chance to spot the lounge already while flying from Mumbai Airport?

  1. Hi! My family of 3 ( including my daughter of 11 years) would be travelling from Air India, Terminal 2, Mumbai International airport this May.

Could you please advise which shall be the best lounge to avail. We are Amex Platinum Charge members.

    • @Sakshi if you don’t have access to lounges provided by Air India, you only have access to one lounge then, which is the Loyalty Lounge.

  2. Thanks for this post. Wouldn’t have known about Amex lounge otherwise. Wasn’t listed on amex site. Had gone to GVK lounge but found it uncomfortable. Thanks for the posts everyone

  3. Entry to the lounge is complimentary for Centurion and Platinum Cardmembers. Platinum Reserve Cardmembers receive up to 12 complimentary visits a year.

Sigh, I was looking forward to a visit using my Jet-AMEX card.
