Away Travel, the luggage retailer which has some of the most understated chic designs is currently holding its first-ever Sale in the many years of the direct-to-consumer brand.
Between September 9 – 15, 2020, Away is offering up to 50% off its suitcases, bags and travel accessories. Each item has been marked down by 15%, 30% or 50%. While Away is a prominent direct to consumer brand, they have also opened up the Away stores in the past years, and the Sale is available at stores as well.
So much was the rush at the opening hour of 8 AM ET for the Sale, that the website briefly crashed. Away took the internet by storm when they launched their first product, which was their carry-on. The carry-on is usually priced at over USD 200, but going at a deep discount at the moment.
The sleek carry-on, of which I have two of (shared custody with Shipra!), fits comfortably in the overhead lockers of airlines and comes with a rugged polycarbonate shell, spinner wheels, matte finish, and a laundry bag inside. The biggest draw for me to have picked up my first carry-on was the ejectable battery system, which allows me to fast-charge a phone or another electronic device on the go. Given the way it is designed, it does not become a problem in the rare instance I have to check-in the bag as well, since I can pull out the battery. Not just that, Away products carry a limited but lifetime warranty which is better than the TravelPro I was using before.

Away is not a brand available in India, but I’ve used my trips to the USA and returning friends and family to bring home some of my favourite Away bags over the years. So, if you are based in India, you could ship a bag to them and have them bring it to you later, or get it couriered to you. Ground shipping inside the contiguous US states is free.
