Get 5X JPMiles on booking flights with your American Express

With the grounding of Jet Airways, the opportunities to earn and burn JPMiles changed significantly. JetPrivilege’s new business model included the ability to offer a booking engine in partnership with EaseMyTrip, which provides the ability to book revenue tickets, as well as redeem JPMiles for any flight. But the earning side is still active with Amex JPMiles credit cards, ICICI and HDFC co-brand cards amongst others.

The earning side is reasonably attractive. JetPrivilege has been offering various bonuses for people to try out the new engine. For instance, last month, I was targetted for a bonus giving me 3,000 JPMiles for booking two flights. And I did. Apart from that, JetPrivilege is also giving away JPMiles for tickets booked on flights.jetprivilege.com which may have been booked by you but flown by someone else. In my case, it even came with a bonus due to my being a Platinum member.

Also, JetPrivilege has upped the ante with credit card bonuses. HDFC JetPrivilege co-brand cards had a bonus running recently. Amex and ICICI Bank JetPrivilege co-branded cards also had various bonuses running to offer bonus JPMiles. The ICICI Bank promotion is to end this month and requires a pre-registration.

To promote the use of the flights.jetprivilege.com website, now the Jet Airways American Express Platinum Credit Card is offering 5X JPMiles on booking your revenue tickets with the flights.JetPrivilege.com website.

The card used to offer Double JPMiles for booking on the Jet Airways website (16 JPMiles/INR 150). But through December 15, 2019, will now provide another 3X bonus JPMiles when you book a revenue ticket on the website. As long as you are not using miles to offset any part of your revenue ticket booking, you have an opportunity to earn 40 JPMiles/INR 150 spent. The remaining 3X JPMiles will be added to your account by January 2020.

Amex JPMiles

But that is not all that you stand to maximise your JPMiles earning on. JetPrivilege is aggressively pushing the JP portal for booking tickets, so which means you also get any activation bonuses from their side. For instance, through September 20, 2019, they are offering 700 JPmiles per flight booking. They continue to provide some or the other offers.

And when you book a flight for yourself or anyone else, you also get some JPMiles through a mysterious algorithm when the other person takes that flight. And if you are an elite, you get up to 75% bonus as well. For instance, have a look at these entries when I booked my parents on a flight to Delhi from Mumbai.

If you see the utility of JPMiles, this is a great offer to accumulate JPMiles, and you can triple dip as well. Use your co-branded American Express card,  book tickets for yourselves and others, and use the bonus JPMiles offers to get even more miles.  Even if you get the low value of INR 0.3 with the JPMiles, you get an 8% value by using your credit card to book these tickets. Add some more for the rest of the JPMiles you will earn, and at least you get 10% RoI.

What do you think of the new American Express JetPrivilege co-branded cards 5X  promotion?

  1. Hi Ajay,

Is this a targeted offer? I just made my booking using AMEX Jet Airways Platinum Card, and then browsing through the offers on jetprivilege.com I came accross 5x offer on Indusind Odyssey card and HDFC jetprivilege world/signature card. But 5x on Amex card no where to been seen, not on Amex site too.
