The promotion needs to be saved on the credit card (explained here). Once saved, cardmembers receive a 20% cashback on their purchases from Flipkart, MakeMyTrip and Zomato, up to an amount of INR 5,000.

Here are the salient terms of this promotion:

  • Offer valid for payments made online at flipkart.com, makemytrip.com, zomato.com or in-app. Not valid for payments made in-person.
    • Flipkart: Excludes payments made upon delivery.
    • MakeMyTrip: ‘PayLater’ payment option is only valid for Hotel and Flight bookings where payment is made by 30/06/2021.
  • 20% cashback will be applied every time, and the offer is limited to a maximum of ₹5,000 cashback applied to the Card during the offer period.
  • Not valid for payments made via a third party establishment or payment processor (including, but not limited to, digital wallets).
  • Cashback should appear on your billing statement within five business days from qualifying spend but may take up to 90 days from the offer end date 30/06/2021.

Bottomline

American Express Platinum Reserve Cardmembers stand to receive a 20% cashback when they pay for their Flipkart, MakeMyTrip and Zomato purchases with their cards. The benefit of making this a statement credit is that you will also be able to use any other promotion codes for your purchases.

  1. Does AMEX allow the linking or clubbing of the Platinum Travel credit card with other credit/charge cards on the AMEX online account ?

Do all the points accrued from the Platinum Travel card get added to a single membership rewards point balance? If yes, then how does the expiry of the whole points balance (i.e., the MR points earned from other AMEX cards) work? If no, how does the redemption work in such a trifecta?

I have a Platinum charge card, a Platinum Reserve credit card and now I want to apply for a Platinum Travel card as well.
But I am unable to understand how the MR points system works in this type of a 3 card set-up with AMEX.

    • You can call up the customer service, and they can merge the MR account for your cards. Worked for me on a trifecta of: Platinum Reserve, Gold Charge and MRCC.

Since the points don’t expire, it works well. The highest of the three cards will have the details in the statement with breakdown of how much was earned on each of the cards.

  2. Zomato is offering 15% cash back for certain restaurants in Mumbai for a minimum order of INR 700. This is in form of Zomato cash expiring in 7 days. So you can double dip using AMEX has the mode of payment.
