Accor’s ALL programme halves requalification requirements for 2021

Earlier on in 2020, Accor’s ALL loyalty programme made some important changes to ensure their members did not suffer due to the global shutdown that the pandemic put upon everyone. Not only did members get status extensions for their status earned in 2019 to end of 2021, but July 2020 onwards, all status nights and points earned will be counted for 2021 status evaluation.

As per the communication from Accor Live Limitless then,

Status Extension: The status you earned in 2019 will be extended to December 31, 2021 allowing you more time to enjoy all the benefits of ALL-Accor Live Limitless.
Points Expiration: To provide you ample time to redeem points, the expiration of Rewards points will be paused through December 15, 2020.
Roll-Over Status Nights / Points: ALL status nights and points earned between July 1, 2020 and December 31, 2020 will be rolled over to jump start your elite qualification on January 1, 2021, allowing you to earn elite status faster in the 2022 program year.
Suite Night Upgrades: For Platinum and Diamond members, all unused Suite Night Upgrades as of December 31, 2020 will be extended for 12 months to provide you more time to enjoy a suite night upgrade on us. ”

Now, Accor has put some new benefits, offering double status points and status nights through 2021 to everyone who stays with them during 2021. That reduces the requirements to stay at an Accor property by half.

  • Novotel
  • Movenpick

As a reference, here is how many stays or spend you need for earning ALL status.

Bottomline

For the Accor Hotels frequent guests, this is excellent news, because they will now be able to earn Platinum in the programme just for 30 nights, bringing them at par with some of the other programmes in the hotel industry which have moved similarly, such as Hyatt and Hilton.

Accor loyalists, are you happy for this move by ALL and will you be heading for status in 2021 again?

  1. Nice! Looks like I’ll hit Platinum this way with my work stays in Feb and Mar, if they do happen as planned. Does status earned by Mar next year stay till the end of 2022?

Also, I’ve had a bad experience with bonus points not posting recently over the past 3 months, when the stay was booked under an offer. Have always had to open a case for them to be posted retroactively. For example, the Holiday Plus voucher bonus points have still not posted even after opening a ticket with Accor Plus and ALL both. Have you experienced anything similar?
